Ukodhiko Flags Off Another Round of Youth, Women Empowerment on Cufflinks, Stud and Bead Making
As part of his sustained efforts to empower constituents with practical skills that promote self-reliance, and in fulfilment of his campaign promises, the Member representing Isoko North and South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Rep. Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko, has flagged off another Youth and Women Empowerment Programme on Cufflinks and Bead Making.
The programme, organised in collaboration with the Project Development Institute (PRODA) and Hammdes Nigeria Limited, was flagged off on Tuesday 10th February 2025, at the NULGE Hall, Ozoro, in Isoko North Local Government Area.
The flag-off ceremony was performed on behalf of Rep. Ukodhiko by the Pioneer Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA), Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Okoro, who was represented by his Special Adviser, Deacon Nathaniel Oromena Oki.
Speaking at the event, Rt. Hon. Okoro commended Rep. Ukodhiko for the thoughtful initiative, describing it as a timely intervention aimed at equipping youths and women with rare but valuable skills capable of improving their socio-economic wellbeing.
He expressed confidence that, if properly utilised, the training would serve as a sustainable source of self-employment for beneficiaries, while also contributing meaningfully to the growth of the local economy.
Rt. Hon. Okoro congratulated the participants on their selection and urged them to take the training seriously, rather than viewing it merely as an opportunity to benefit from the business support grants to be provided at the end of the programme.
Participants were later engaged in hands-on training sessions facilitated by Mr. Felix Abrakasa, Managing Director of Lebanon Resources and Youth Development on Craft, who trained them on stud and cufflinks production.
Supervisors from the Project Development Institute (PRODA), Enugu, Mr. Madubuike Paul and Mr. Ihedigbo Stanley, also congratulated the participants and commended their discipline and orderly conduct throughout the programme.
They encouraged the trainees to maximise the opportunity, embrace the newly acquired skills wholeheartedly, and draw inspiration from the experience and success story of the resource person.
